Converting a KVM to a VDI

KVM and VirtualBox are both virtualization product allowing you to run operating system in a window independent from your central operating system. Although both of them are used to run several operating system on the same hardware, KVM and VirtualBox use different file formats to store the virtual machine. To transfer KVM virtual machine to VDI file type used in VirtualBox, an indirect procedure is required.


DVI Switch

To start converting a KVM to a VDI, firstly, download a vCenter Converter from vmware.com/products/converter/. Once you install it on KVM machine, run the program. You will see a "Convert Machine" on the top-left corner of the window, click on the button. Select "powered-on machine" and "This local machine." After that, click "Next."
